LABORATORY NARRATIVE
i Mod.Method TO-14A
Kleinfelder
Workorder#0512241
One 1 Liter Silonite Canister and one 1 Liter Summa Canister samples were received on December 09,
2005. The laboratory performed the analysis via Modified Method TO-14A using GUMS in the full scan
mode. The method involves direct injection of up to a 40 mL sample aliquot into a vapor management
system. Following dehumidification the sample passes directly into the GUMS for analysis.
Method modifications taken to run these samples are summarized in the below table. Specific project
requirements may over-ride the ATI,modifications.
Requirement TO-14A ATL Modifications
Initial Calibration +-30%RSD </30%RSD with 2 compounds allowed out to<40%.
Daily CCV +.30 M.D U=30%D with 2 allowed out up to 40%;flag and narrate
associated sample results
BFB Tune Absolute Abundance Within 10%of that CCV Internal Standard area counts are compared to the
Criteria from the previous day. The discrepancy was noted in the Sample Receipt
Confirmation email/fax.
Analytical Notes
There were no analytical discrepancies.
Definition of Data Qualifying Flags
Eight qualifiers may have been used on the data analysis sheets and indicates as follows:
B - Compound present in laboratory blank greater than reporting limit (background subtraction no
performed).
J- Estimated value.
E- Exceeds instrument calibration range.
S - Saturated peak.
Q - Exceeds quality control limits.
i
U- Compound analyzed for but not detected above the reporting limit
UJ- Non-detected compound associated with low bias in the CCV
N - The identification is based on presumptive evidence.
File extensions may have been used on the data analysis sheets and indicates
as follows:
