ATTACHMENT B
Findings for Adoption of Urgency Interim Zoning Ordinance
(pursuant to Section 65858 (c) of the California Government Code)
1. There is a current and immediate threat to the public
health, safety, or welfare.
• This finding can be made because the county presently
has no ordinance relative to Adult Entertainment,
therefore, there are not guidelines, standards, or
locational criteria in place with which to evaluate
requests for adult businesses.
2 . Approval of additional subdivisions, use permits, variances,
building permits or any other applicable entitlement for use
which is required in order to comply with a zoning ordinance
would result in a threat to public health, safety or
welfare.
• This finding can be made because the Board of
Supervisors, in adopting this ordinance, takes notice
of the existence and content of the studies from
various cities and reports concerning the potential
impacts adult entertainment businesses may have on
surrounding land uses (copies of these studies and
reports are on file with both the Clerk of the Board
and the Community Development Department) . These
studies and reports are relevant to the issues
addressed by the County in enacting this ordinance to
regulate the potential impacts of adult entertainment
businesses.
-4-
