Weber Avenue, 3rd Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Addendum to Workplan for Subsurface Investigation at Smiths Canal Pump Plant,
Fontana Street and Smiths Canal, Stockton, California, Site Code 1102
Dear Mr. Wong:
ATC Associates Inc., on behalf of the City of Stockton, has prepared this addendum to the April
13, 2001 workplan for performing a subsurface investigation at the subject site (Figure 1). The
original scope of work included drilling five soil borings on the property located at 2142 Fontana I
Avenue in Stockton, California. On April 23, 2001, ATC initiated the field work but we were I
only able to advance three of the five soil borings due to underground utilities located on the site.
Subsequently, two of the borings will be relocated as shown on Figure 2 (attached). One of the
borings had to be relocated to 2144 Fontana Avenue. ATC has completed a permit application
for this boring. The application and associated fee are attached.
The work is currently scheduledfor May 22, 2001. If the drilling subcontractor becomes
available sooner than that we will try to move this date up. ATC will notify PHS/EHD at least 48
hours prior to beginning any field activities. . The summary report will be submitted to PHS/EHD
approximately four to five weeks after the completion of field activities.
If you have any questions, please contact us at (209) 579-2221.
Respectfully submitted,
ATC Associates Inc.
Jeann" a HomseY, P
Registered Engineer No. C47410
Attachments
cc: James Giottonini, City of Stockton Public Works Department
Marty Hartzell, RWQCB
w:\62574\62574.02\reports\pumpwkp.doc 1
