Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Second Quarter 1994 Monitoring and Sampling Report, Site Code 1102, Smith
Canal Pump Plant, Fontana Street and Smith Canal, Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Turkatte:
This letter report summarizes groundwater monitoring activities at the above referenced site
(Figure 1) during the second quarter of 1994. These activities included monitoring fluid levels
in all site wells and collecting groundwater samples for laboratory analysis.
FIELD WORK
On April 25, 1994, static fluid levels were measured in monitoring wells MW1 through MW6.
The water table rose an average of 0.62 feet from February 3, 1994 to April 25, 1994. Table
1 summarizes the water level data collected this quarter and provides previous data for
comparison.
A groundwater gradient map was created for the April 25, 1994 monitoring event using a
kriging program (Figure 2). The figure depicts a northwesterly gradient which averages
approximately 0.01 ft/ft or 53 feet per mile, which is consistent with historical data.
Floating petroleum product was observed in well MW4. Approximately 1.9 liters of free
product was recovered. Table 2 summarizes the product thickness measurements and volume
' OW03651QRTFRLY12QMR1994.FNL
