i
MESMA
Working To Restore Nature
collection, each sampled well was purged of a minimum of three well volumes of water to collect
representative groundwater samples. Purged water was contained in labeled 55 gallon drums (DOT
H), and stored on-site.
Groundwater samples were collected after physical parameters (pH, temperature, and conductivity)
were monitored and had stabilized. A dedicated disposable bailer with a bottom-emptying device
was used to collect samples from wells MW2, MW3, MW5 and MW6. Field purge logs are
presented in Attachment 1.
LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) and total petroleum
hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) by Sequoia Analytical, a State-certified laboratory, utilizing EPA
methods 8020 and modified 8015, respectively. Analytical results are summarized in Table 3.
Laboratory data sheets and chain-of-custody documentation are included in Attachment 2.
Laboratory results indicated that TPHd was present in the samples from wells MW3 and MW6 at
95 and 69 parts per billion, respectively; however, the laboratory reported these as non-diesel mixes
in the C10 to C19 range. No BTEX analytes were detected.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact John Lane at our Escalon office (209/838-
3 507).
Respectfully,
RESNA Industries, Inc.
Marcie R.
