AZXM.A.
r
ppm, respectively. Analytical methods, sample containers, holding time, and means of
r
preservation are listed in Appendix IFI.
Soil borings not converted to groundwater monitoring wells will be abandoned by filling
the boring with neat cement. To avoid cross-contamination, drilling augers will be
steam-cleaned before drilling each borehole. Water used to clean the augers after
drilling each boring will be collected and stored in drums approved for hazardous liquid
' storage.
>; All .drill cuttings will be stockpiled on-site, placed on and covered with 6 mil plastic
sheeting. Soil cuttings and groundwater will be properly disposed of in a timely and
appropriately after reviewing the analytical results and obtaining agency approval.
4.1,2 Monitoring Well Construction
Proposed monitoring wells will be constructed of two inch diameter F480 threaded PVC
= screen/casing. No glues or solvents will be used. Screen slot size will be 0.010 inch.
Tj Sand pack material will be #2 pre-washed silica-sand. A minimum two foot bentonite
seal will be placed prior to grouting with neat cement grout. Wells will be installed to
G a depth of approximately 30 feet below grade. Well completion depth is based on the
settingof the well screen 15 feet below and 5 feet above the saturated zone. This
s
construction will allow for groundwater fluctuations. Actual completion depths will be
determined in the field based on hydrogeologic conditions encountered. Typical
Ii completion will be as shown on Figure 5.
I 4.1.3 Monitoring Well Development
Following installation, each monitoring will be developed using swab and bail techniques
r= ! in accordance with RESNA's QA/QC Plan, Groundwater Development Protocol
(Appendix FII). The wells will be developed until they are relatively sediment free. All
I
REPoersnWP-1292.FNL 5
_f.l
