If the data collected from these off-site wells indicate
a consistent groundwater flow pattern for the area, one well may be installed at your site within 10 feet of
-the suspected source area in the verified downgmdient direction to verify the quality of the groundwater.
If the existing wells located at 188 Frank West Circle are dry or unusable,a minimum of three monitoring
wells will need to be installed to verify groundwater flow patterns and gradient direction at this site.
Hydropunch technology as an alternative to conventional monitoring wells to gather groundwater data was
discussed at the meeting. PHS/EHD recommends the use of a monitoring well to gather groundwater
quality data, however, the hydropunch technology is another option available. Please be advised, however,
that the data gathered from a hydropunch may not be sufficient for concurrence for closure from the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
If you have any questions or comments regarding this letter, please contact Linda Turkatte, Senior RENS,
of my staff at (209) 468-3441.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H-
Fnna
Officer
Heran, RENS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
DH/It
C Beth Thayer-CVRWQCB
C.
