Wallace-Kuhl &Associates, Inc. (WKA) conducted quarterly groundwater
monitoring activities at the site on December 11, 2001. The monitoring
activities performed at wells MWl through MW8 (see Plate 2) included
- -' measuring the depth to groundwater, checking for visual signs of free
4. product, purging each well, then collecting a groundwater sample for
laboratory analysis. We measured water levels using an electronic water
b level indicator and checked for free product using new, clean, disposable
polyethylene bailers.
Prior to sampling, approximately three casing-volumes of water were purged
s from each well. Groundwater samples were then collected using new
polyethylene disposable bailers and decanted into appropriate sampling
containers provided by the analytical laboratory. Each sample was
immediately placed in an ice-chest containing ice and submitted under Chain-
of-Custody documentation to a California Department of Health Services
,r certified laboratory for analysis of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHg),Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Total Xylenes
x (BTEX), Tert-Butanol,Methyl tert-Butyl Ether, Di-isopropyl Ether, Ethyl
CORPORATE OFFICE tert Butyl Ether, and Tert-Amyl methyl Ether(oxygenates)using EPA
3050 Industrial Blvd. Method 8260B.
West Sacramento
CA 95691 The submersible pump was cleaned with a solution of Liqui-nox® and water
rv.w Tel 916.372.1434 before purging each well to minimize the potential for cross-contamination.
ti Fax 916.372.2565 In addition, the wells were sampled in order of increasing concentration
r ROCKLIN OFFICE based on previous sampling results.
