October 6,.1 999
._'Page 2
:.Analysis-of--water samples MW2; SMW2, MW3' MW6, and MW7 revealed no detectable
concentrations of TPH as gasoline,_BTEX, or MtBE. -
Concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in-the water samples from wells MWl-,
MW4 and MW5. Review of historic data reveals no specific trend with regard to TPH-as
gasoline-concentrations in wells MW4 and MW5. Concentrations of TPH as gasoline in MW1--
have decreased from 1992 to November of 1998. However, the August 8, 1999 sampling
analysis showed an increase in TPH as gasoline—"concentrations in MW1. While the reason for-'-
T this fluctuation remains unclear, groundwater levels which are almost at seven year.highs, may
be a localized impact on petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations. MtBE was not detected
-_•'= in any of the monitoring-wells. Benzene was detected-in wells MW4 and MW5 at concentrations I
of 4,600 4g/l'and 8,700 µg/l,respectively.-°A.summary of analytical results for ground water - -
samples obtained from the six on-site and one-off-site monitoring wells are included as Table 2. ...-
_ Complete analytical reports and chain-of-custody documentation are included in the appendi';
_= -The next quarter of groundwater monitoring and sampling is scheduled for November 1999.
