MEMO
TO: Ms. Marla Kendrick, Manager , Pacific Shell
FROM: Pam Violett, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
DATE: July 13, 1992
RE: Monitoring program for new Underground Storage Tanks (UST's)
I am in receipt of your quarterly report for the second quarter of
1992 . Please be aware that with the new UST' s at your facility
your monitoring program is not the same as with the old tanks, and
it does not include submitting quarterly reports. Instead, you
have a continuous monitoring system (versus inventory
reconciliation as before) that has specific requirements.
I have enclosed a copy of the UST Regulations Section 2632 for your
reference. As noted in Section 2632 (e) , you are required to have
a Written Routine Monitoring Procedure on site. This should have
been developed prior to operation of your new tanks. This
paperwork must be available for review during your routine tank
inspections.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free
to Lntact me at (209) 468-0335.
i
Pam Violett, R.E.H.S.
