RE: Coiberg Boat Works Inc. Site Code: 2005
848 W Fremont St.
Stockton CA 95203
n Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) has
San Joaquin County ,
q
reviewed "Third Quarter 1998 Groundwater Monitoring Report Colberg Boat Works dated August
5, 1998 and'Second Quarter 199$ Groundwater Monitoring Report
And Closure Request for
Former Diesel Tank Site" dated June 19, 1998:prepared by Apex Envirotech, Inc.
Three underground storage tanks (UST), a 500-gallon diesel UST a 8,000-gallon diesel UST in
` one area, and a 1,000-gallon gasoline UST in another area were removed from the above
referenced site in 1986. Analytical results of the last groundwater samples of Monitoring Well 4
(MW) at the former diesel UST area were 110 parts per billion (ppb) Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPM-g), 900 ppb diesel (TPH-d), 2.2 ppb ethyl-benzene, 1.3 ppb
xylenes: Benzene, Toluene, (BTEX) and Oxygenates were not detected. TPH-g, TPH-d BTEX,
and Oxygenates, were not detected in groundwater samples of MW-5 and MWL6.
Based on past water and soil sample results, the vertical extent of the diesel contamination at the
former diesel UST area is confined to above 15 feet below surface grade(bsg),and the diesel
plume in groundwater appears to be stable. It is estimated that the residual diesel mass in the
groundwater and soil is 0.88 pounds.
PHSIEHD will not require further investigation of the former diesel UST area at this time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at(209)468-0335.
Ilf
Donna'Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
i
Jeffrey'iWong , EHS, Trainee Margaret Lagorio, REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region - Mark List
c: Apex Envirotech, Inc. -Thomas E.
