This proposal is in
response to the May 26, 1999 directive from San Joaquin County Public Health Services-
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD).
Mr. Jeff Wong, of PHS-EHD, set a deadline of July 10, 1999 in which to receive a workplan for the
installation of the new well. The new well is to be installed in the vicinity of well MW-2 (see Figure
1). Our costs to perform the services are outlined on the attached Cost Estimate Worksheet.
As a means of saving time, this proposal includes costs for both preparation of a well installation
workplan and the actual cost for the well installation itself. Further, we have included the cost to
perform two quarters of well sampling for the new well. Two quarters were selected since two
quarters of sampling remain on the pre-approved budget under which we are working. This will
place the new well on the same budget schedule as the existing wells.
Also note that our cost estimate includes sampling and analysis of four soil samples which are
proposed to be collected during installation of the well. We highly recommend that soil samples be
collected and analyzed as the information they will provide will be relatively inexpensive given the
fact that the drill rig must be mobilized for the well installation. Our proposed analyses are for total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, the volatile fuel components "BTEX", and petroleum
oxygenates, though PHS-EHD may wish to modify these analyses somewhat. Ultimate well
installation details and sample analyses will be presented in the workplan, to be subject to PHS-
EHD approval.
11350 Monier Park Place, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742 Tei: 916.853.8025 Fax: 916.853.8029
