f
November 10, 9998
Mr, Jeff Wong
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
304 E_ Weber Streel, Third Floor
Stockton, GA 95202
Subject: Valley Showcase
913 W. Fremont Street
Stockton, Califomis
WORKPLAN FOR ORCO PLACEMEN'
Dear Mr. Wang:
JJW Geosciences Inc. has recently been ,retained by the owners of the Valley
Showcase site to carry on, future environmental services for the above-referended site.
` Prior work was performed by William J. Hunter & Associates. JJW Geosciencaes has
coordinated the change of consultants with William J. Hunter &Associatas to insure a
smooth transition.
A=rding to Mr. Bill Hunter, of William J. Hunter$: Associates, the status of the Valley
Showcase site has recently consisted of quarterly monitoring and sampling: Mr. Hunter
indicated that you recently approved (verbally) a plan to piece Oxygen Release
Compound (ORCIO) in monitoring well MW-2. ORCO can be an effective means of
stimulating an increase in natural biodegradation of the petroleum hydrocarbons.
Monitoring well MW--2"has typically been the "hot'well at the site.
Since the Valley Shoytrt<ase owners are receiving corrective action reimbursement
through the Cleanup Fund, we will need to obtain pre-approval for placemW of the
ORCO. In order for us to do this, we will need a written directive from your office which
approves placement of CIRCO. This workplan outlines our proposed activities so that a
t directive may be issued.
i
l _.
