Hunter and Associates
for the above referenced site.
The January 5 report contains a recommendation that sampling of MW-3 be discontinued and to perform
confirmation sampling of MW-1 prior to discontinuing quarterly sampling of that well. PHSIEHD will allow
sampling to be temporarily discontinued in MW-2 because this well appears to be in the middle of the
plume and therefore does not provide data on plume movement. Analytical data from MW-2 will be useful
in determining the effectiveness of the remediation system. However all wells shall be measured for
groundwater elevations to maintain accurate gradient data.
The conclusion of the February report is that the extent of soil and groundwater contamination has been
defined. The report recommends installation of a downgradient monitoring well and to initiate evaluation
of remedial techniques. PHSIEHD concurs with the conclusions and recommendations of the February
report.
The February report contains a workplan for the installation of a downgradient monitoring well. PHSIEHD
approves the well installation workplan.
In order to remain in compliance with Article 11 of the California Code of Regulations this workplan shall
be implemented by May 1, 1996.
For further information, please contact Steven Sasson at (209) 468-3459.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health
Division
iv&en''Lasscn, Senior RENS Margaret Lagorio, RE
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
SS
cc: Wm.
