Hunter and Associates, for the
above referenced site.
The groundwater contaminant plume appears to exist downgradient of the former tank location. The downgradient
well MW-2 shows contamination. The downgradient extent of the plume has not been defined. PHS/EHD requires
installation of.additional wells in order to complete the site characterization.
The results of the laboratory analysis of the soil sample obtained during the tank removal on February 11, 1988
confirmed the presence of contamination in the tank excavation. Soil contamination was also evidenced during the
installation of MW-2 and the sample results confirmed the contamination.
PHS/EHD concurs with the recommendation in the report to discontinue quarterly sampling of MW-1 and MW-3
if the next round of groundwater samples from these wells evidence no contamination. PHS/EHD requires quarterly
water level measurements of MW-I and MW-3 to provide data for groundwater contouring.
This report fails to propose the nest scope of work. PHS/EHD requires an addendum to this report proposing the
next scope of work within 30 days of the date of this letter.
If you have any questions, contact Steve Sasson at (209) 468-3459.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Steven Sasso Senior REHS
Diane M.
