Fremont Street; Site Code 1114
Stockton, CA
Prepared for
San Joaquin County PHS
Environmental Health Division
by
Wm. J. Hunter & Associates
March, 1995
PURPOSE OF WORK:
In February, 1988, a 500 gallon UST which had contained gasoline
was removed from the property. A soil sample taken from beneath
the tank site at 13' bgl revealed the presence of toluene,
xylene, & petroleum as TVPH. The removed spoil was returned to
the site and no further work was done at that time.
. On October 18, 1993, the San Joaquin County EHD informed the
owner that a groundwater investigation must be performed as a
result of the contamination encountered after removal of the UST.
In February & March, 1994, three (3) groundwater monitoring wells
were placed on the property to evaluate the extent of that con-
tamination. The results of that work revealed that both soil &
groundwater had been impacted by the UST, and further investiga-
tive work will be required per correspondence from San Joaquin
County EHD dated August 9, 1994; see EXHIBIT A for a co
that document. PY of
In order to reduce the possibility of continued leaching of
contamination from the impacted soil into the groundwater, a
workplan was prepared for the purpose of reentering the site of
the removed UST, remove the spoil which had been returned to the
hole, and excavate as much remaining contaminated soil as
Possible. A copy of that workplan in included as EXHIBIT B. That
work was completed on December 19 & 20, 1994 under the super-
vision of W. J. Hunter, R.G. ; the results of that work are
detailed in this report. On December 19, 1994, the EHD wrote to
Mr. Lechich outlining some additonal requirements; that letter is
included as EXH-B.IT_g.
On December 21, 1994, the three wells were purged and sampled by
Del-Tech Geotechnical Support Services as required by the ongoing
• quarterly monitoring program. The results of that work is
1
