Highly reflective building <br /> materials and mirrored glass shall be prohibited. <br /> Exterior Lighting: <br /> Lighting should be designed with fixtures that provide visual <br /> interest but are appropriate to the historic architectural context of <br /> the primary structure. The following guidelines for exterior <br /> building lighting apply: <br /> • Lighting fixtures shall be compatible with and complement the <br /> design and period of the building style. Fixtures shall be <br /> appropriately sized and in scale with the building facade. <br /> • Exterior building lighting should be used to accentuate the <br /> building design and highlight architectural details and features <br /> integral to the building design. <br /> • Building entrances and street numbers should be illuminated to <br /> be visible from the street. <br /> 5.2.4 Landscaping: <br /> Landscaping Coverage: <br /> Landscape coverage is the minimum percent of the net lot area that <br /> must be covered by a pervious surface. Required parking lot <br /> landscape is included in this calculation. Within the District, up to <br /> fifty percent (50%) of the site landscape may be in the form of <br /> decorative paving for pedestrian walkways and other outdoor <br /> areas. The following landscape coverage guidelines apply: <br /> • Property with the front building facade located within five (5) <br /> feet of the front property line shall have a minimum landscape <br /> coverage of five percent (5%). Landscape improvements shall <br /> include one or more containerized planting (e.g., window <br /> boxes, pots, planters, hanging baskets). <br /> • Property with the front building facade set back more than five <br /> (5) feet from the front property line shall have a minimum <br /> landscape coverage of eight percent (8%).
