4 r
lam,-
J
PA m 04 00 x 0 .5
Attachment 1
*This applicant is aware of the ongoing efforts of the California Department
of Fish and Game with their current watershed and natural resource projects in our
area. Some of these projects include the Mokelumne River Water Quality Program
(ongoing), the Mokelumne River Watershed Wildlife Monitoring Program
(ongoing),the Lower Mokelumne River Feasibility Study(to 2009),the Lower
Mokelumne River Watershed Riparian Vegetation Monitoring Program(ongoing),
and the Central Valley Habitat Joint Venture.
Our proposal involves cooperation with the following collaborating
organizations: The California Department of Fish and Game, San Joaquin County,
the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, and the East
Bay Municipal Utility District. With the approval of the above mentioned agencies
this applicant will initiate efforts to protect high quality riparian habitat, implement
riparian restoration activities and reduce or eliminate invasive plant species from this
riparian corridor on the two referenced parcels.
A 2003 summary report of incidents logged by the San Joaquin County
Sheriff's Department over a period of 12 months for the aforementioned property
indicates the following: There were a total of 19 calls reported for this property
with this governmental agency alone. Please note that these calls were logged after a
barrier gate was installed at the Woodbridge Irrigation District Canal crossing.
Additionally a survey of foot and motor traffic was done over an eight hour
time period at this property in early 2004. This applicant recorded during this period
the following: two-three wheel ATV/s with persons traveling from north Stockton;
three bicyclists who had passed through 2 locked gates to enter the property; and 9
people on foot.
