June 16, 2004
NOA Project Number: E04069A
Table 4.
Details of Percolation Test.
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
Date Tested Test Depth(ft) (minutes/inch) Duration
P-1 shallow,6-9-04 3.21 <1.4 1 hr Passed.
Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallow"test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch.
6.5 Discussion of Percolation Tests
As a result of the percolation testing, the parcel evaluated demonstrated a satisfactory
percolation rate in accordance with the requirements of the EHD.
Though the percolation rate was found to be ra2id we believe the Site is suitable for a fi
bed disposal field No wells or structures may be located within a 100-foot radius of the septic
ispd osa l area. We recommend that any future septic system layout follow the method
prescribed in the Sewage Standards (1996) of the EHD. We do not foresee any adverse
conditions.
7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
In summary, a satisfactory percolation rate was achieved in the proposed septic disposal area
for the future residence. No ground water was encountered in the boring drilled on the
property, and the depth to ground water is approximately 10 to 20 feet below the roundd
surface for the period of Fall 1998 and Spring 1999.
Based on the results of this study, our office has found the soils to be suitable for a standard
septic system with a filter bed disposal area for the Site. We recommend that the design and
installation of the septic system follow the requirements established by the EHD.
8.0 LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the existing
and proposed development, the use of the subject property, and the site conditions as they
existed at the time we excavated our test holes and performed the percolation tests. It was
assumed that the test holes and percolation test results are representative of the subsurface
conditions in the general area.
8
