The determination
of the significance of the analytical data was based on whether.
or not the soil samples obtainedfrom the site would be
f
classified as hazardous . The following section presents the
rationale behind the determination of the significance of the
analytical data .
6 . 1 . 1 Hazardous Classification: The criteria used to
classify a material as "hazardous " is presented in Article 11 , i
Chapter 30 , Title 22 of the California Administrative Code (CAC) . ' k
Section 66699 ( c ) of Article 11 identifies a a material as
F
"hazardous " if the concentration of a substance listed in the
table of Organic Persistent and Bioaccumulative Toxic Substances
t
F. exceeds the Total Threshold Limit Concentration (TTLC ) or Soluble , j
` Threshold Limit Concentration ( STLC ) for that substance . The a
classification of soil samples in thi report as "hazardous" is `
E.
based on a comparison of the PCB concentration detected and(
- I w
TTLC value of 50 mg /kg ( arts er million) listed in Sectio
g g P Pn
4.
66699 ( c ) , Article 11 , Chapter 30 , Title 22 of CAC .
