Pacific Gas and
Electric Company
nn
4811. 18
June 21, 2000
Mr. Randy Schulley
California State Office of Emergency Services
2800 Meadowview Road
Sacramento, CA 95832
Dear Mr. Schulley,
This letter is a follow up written report for the verbal spill notification discussed with you on
Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at 12:20 PM. At that time you assigned control number 00-2750 to this spill
event. Notifications were also made to Art Bentley at the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency
Services at 12:40 AM on 6/16/00 and to Kasey Foley at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department at 12:35 AM on 6/16/00.
There was a release on 6/15/00 at approximately 9:00 PM located in the backyards of two adjacent
houses at 830 East Robin Hood and 837 Banbury Drives, Stockton, San Joaquin County, California,
95204. A transformer in
and blew its gasket. Three gallons of non -PCB mineral oil spilled
onto the pole, a fence, and various items in the two backyards: a shed and its concrete base at 837
Banbury, and an old glass bottle collection stored in mills crates at 830 East Robin Hood. No oil reached
any waterway. No humans or pets were affected. A PG&E crew double washed and rinsed all of the
affected surfaces with Penetone and water. The oil contaminated rags and absorbent were removed for
offsite disposal.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this matter in greater detail, please contact me at (209) 942-
1511.
Sip'perely
''John Nesbitt
Distribution Supervisor
