Sargent Rd, Lodi
APN 053-070-06, 07, and 08, SR0081401, PA-1900129
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading (SSNL) Study, dated October 31, 2019, submitted on November 14, 2019 for the above noted
location, and has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL Study was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater
treatment system (OWTS) usage and the potential impact of nitrate to groundwater for the proposed project
development. The proposed development project includes:
1. A commercial stable for a maximum of 23 horses on three parcels. The project proposes the utilization
of an existing 32,500 square foot indoor area for training horses, an existing 10,250 square foot stable
for horse care, and an existing 2,826 square foot round training pen.
2. The OWTS usage for the existing septic systems which result in an average daily flow of 1,583.6
gallons of wastewater per day from the following activities:
1) Wastewater from existing four homes and two apartments totaling of 11 bedrooms on daily basis.
2) Wastewater from two employees on daily basis.
3) Wastewater from two visitors on weekdays.
4) Wastewater from five visitors on weekends.
5) Wastewater from 10 participant's clinicians and one guest clinician seven times a year.
6) Wastewater from 40 big show participants, 15 show volunteers and 15 caroling participants once
a year.
7) Wastewater from 20 assisted living visits three times year.
Based on the information provided, the EHD finds that the SSNL Study supports the suitability for standard
OWTS usage on existing parcels, pursuant to San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Title 9, Section 9-
1105.2(d), provided all existing OWTS and 100% replacement areas can meet all minimum setback
requirements from any water wells.
Any deviation to project development or OWTS usage other than mentioned above shall require new Soil
Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study.
1868 E.
