Our firm,(JPCE)was engaged to provide certain mechanical engineering services as directed by F&H Construction on the KFI project, already under construction, during late June through July 18,2002,when F&H stopped our services. F&H Construction listed our firm on the Project Schedule underBuildin Desi /Permits. Activity ID 260 Design Flow Process as the responsible party We are concerned that our firm, name or reputation may he used by F&I-1 in a manner that may influence the approval of certain code or environmental items. Our firm shall not be used in any way related to obtaining permits or approvals and JPCE shall be removed from the Project Schedule. During the course of our work we became aware of various potential improvements, deficiencies, problems and environmental concerns with the proposed design and direction given to us by F&H. We advised F&H of alternate designs for various items to avoid costh, and future problems for KFI before we were directed to stop work. Please be advised that we did not complete our engineering work or drawings for construction before our services were stopped. We did not prepare drawings on the brine Piping systems as we had certain environmental concerns that were not resolved with F&H. F&H listed JPCE as the responsible party on Design/Permit Schedule and since my services were stopped before we had a chance to help resolve certain items, I felt it was my professional duty to inform F&H, KFI, and the Building and Environmental Department on this matter in order to protect our firm and to avoid future problems.
