Wildwood LNG Demonstration Facility
matter, the purpose of the coalescer is to remove possible water slugs and sand particles. Any
water encountered by the coalescer will be collected in the well of the coalescer, which will be
drained periodically as part of normal maintenance procedures. The particulate filter is designed
to remove particles % micron or larger with 99+% efficiency. The filter will be periodically
replaced during scheduled maintenance activities.
Only trace amounts of CO2 have been detected in the gas. The two-bed TSA unit is used to dry
the natural gas and remove CO2 from the process stream. The beds, which contain an adsorbate,
are sized for a process flow rate of 600 standard cubic feet per minute (scfin) at a design pressure
of 400 pounds per square inch—gauge (psig), and a design temperature of 600°F. While one bed
is on-line purifying the gas, the adsorbate in the second bed is being regenerated with the process
waste gas. The TSA unit includes an inline 50 kW heater that is used to heat the regeneration
gas. The CO2 concentration in the TSA effluent stream determines the cycle time between
processing and regeneration.
The inline post filter is used to remove any adsorbate material carried from the TSA by the
effluent gas stream. The filter, which contains a cartridge type filter element, protects the
downstream valves and equipment from particulate material. The filter is designed with 99%
efficiency for particles one n-,i.cron or larger. The filter will be periodically replaced during
scheduled maintenance activi :1ec.
There are no waste streams from this process system. The regeneration gas will be used in the
engine-generator set as part of the fuel supply to that unit. In the event of an emergency,
emergency safety relief valves may vent small quantities of natural gas to the atmosphere. These
valves are designed to protect the processing vessels and piping from over pressurization.
Table 3
Design Information for the Gas Purification System
Equipment ss
Equipment Name Preure,—(PSIG) Temperature (°F) Flow Rate
Number Operating/Design,i Operafing/Desigr scfm
20-1501 Well Head Gas 350/400 Ambient/100 600
Filter
20-2101/2103 TSA Adsorber 350/400 Ambient/600 600
Bed (2)
20-1505 TSA Outlet Filter 350/400 Ambient/100 600
20-3203 Rejection Gas 20/100 550/600 100
Heater
AES Construction Group
Page 6
