Based on the lack of wastewater in some of the
evaporationJpercolation ponds, the wastewater system appeared to have adequate capacity for the winter
season. Odors were not noticed except locally at 11ie headworks and Imhoff tanks. All ponds had at least
two feet of freeboard.
A number of the wastewater ponds had excessive growth of duckweed or other plants, a violation of the
WDRs. Dried sludge was stockpiled ttt the lmljoff tanks. The dried sludge must be removed prior to the
rainy season or covered to prevent generation of leachate.
SUMMARY:
In general, the facility appeared to be in adequate condition but excessive weed grmxilt in some ponds
needs to be corrected and stockpiled dried sludge requires removal or protection from rainfall to prevent
generation of leachate.
n
4Tinioth} R.
