- -- a
Mr. Dennis Rippey - 2 - 25 September 2000
In our meeting, we discussed the monitoring and reporting required by the WDRs. A Notice of
Violation (NOV) was issued on 10 August 2000; as stated in the NOV, Lodi Vintners must immediately
begin monitoring and reporting as required by the WDRs.
Because the wastewater ponds have overflowed in the past, by 24 November 2000 Lodi Vintners is
directed to submit a report, prepared by a California Registered Engineer which evaluates the following:
• The capacity of the wastewater ponds to accommodate all the wastewater and stormwater
discharged to the ponds. Design seasonal precipitation shall be based on total annual
precipitation using a return of 100 years; distributed monthly in accordance with historical
rainfall patterns.
• A project schedule for improvements to the wastewater ponds. Lodi Vintners remains
responsible for the operation of the ponds even if flow from off-site causes a spill of wastewater.
• A description of the composting material stored at the site and improvements to the area to
prevent discharge of compost runoff to the wastewater system.
If you have any questions on this information, please telephone Tim O'Brien at (916) 255-3116.
WENDY WYELS, Chief
Waste Discharge to Land Unit
Lower San Joaquin River Watershed
Enclosures (2)
cc: Mike Huggins, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Stockton
