Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
TURNER WINERY, SAN JOA0UlN COUNTY
On 10 April 1984, you met with Antonia VOrster and Gory ReentS to di3oU55 your
concerns regarding enforcement of Regional Board Order No. 80-055. We agree
that the Odor problem at Turner Winery is either a violation or threatened
violation of Order No. 80-055. The Winery needs to take action to eliminate
the odors.
Because of the large number of serious toxic and public health water quality
problems in San Joaquin County, we regret that we cannot assign staff time to
odor nuisance problems.
We are willing to S8Dd an enforcement letter to the Winery (see enclosed draft)
which asks the Winery to Submit a report on corrections to you for review and
follow-up. We believe the District can pUrSuade the Winery to act using San
Joaquin C0UDtv Ordinance No. 877 and our enforcement letter.
Please ]8t Vs know if you think any changes should be made in the draft enforce-
ment letter.
J.
LAWRENCE PEARSUN
Supervising Engineer
JLP:l 'l
Enclosure
CC: Ms. Carole Atherton, 3WRC8, Sacramento
