California Freight Safety Manual and IIPP <br /> Fire Prevention and Emergency Action Plan <br /> California Freight has developed the following emergency plan to cover those designated <br /> actions that must be taken to ensure employee safety from fire and during other emergencies. <br /> Any questions about this plan should be directed to Paul Hamilton, Director of Transportation, <br /> (209) 599-5024. <br /> Office, Shop & Warehouse Emergency Evacuation and Fire Prevention <br /> Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the following: <br /> 1. That all required emergency exits are clearly identified in the office, shop, and warehouse <br /> and that all required fire-fighting and emergency equipment is available and in good <br /> condition. <br /> The following items will be maintained: <br /> • First aid kit <br /> • Drinking water <br /> • Flashlight <br /> • Portable battery powered radio and batteries <br /> • Fire extinguishers <br /> • Wrench to shut off the main gas valve <br /> • Pry bars, axes, saws, tools or similar devices for employee rescue <br /> 2. Creating a facility map designating all emergency evacuation routes and the locations of all <br /> fire-fighting equipment and emergency supplies and equipment. These maps will be posted <br /> in at least two locations in the facility. <br /> 3. Training all exposed employees on the procedures to be followed in the event of fire, <br /> earthquake or other emergency including how to properly notify other affected employees. <br /> 4. Identifying potential fire hazards in the office, shop and warehouse and ensuring that <br /> adequate steps are taken to prevent fires. <br /> 5. Ensuring that combustible trash and materials are removed promptly from the facility, and <br /> that all flammable and combustible liquids are properly stored and handled. <br /> During an Emergency <br /> In the event of an emergency such as earthquake or fire, all employees are expected to <br /> evacuate the premises immediately.
