Existing and_Proposed Septic Tank_Usage
Existing Septic System
One septic system is currently located on the Site to serve the existing house (Plate 2).
Proposed Septic System
Mr. Martinez plans to build a new septic system for the new residence.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. No septic permits were identified.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 136 septic systems
per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located within a residential area which extends to the north, east, and west
of the Site; many of the houses to the north and west are part of the City of Tracy, and
receive municipal sewer services. To the south of the Site is a gravel mine.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department for nearby properties, most septic systems in the area utilize leach
lines only; two systems utilized leach lines and sumps. The septic permits can be found
in Appendix 4 of this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected usage on the Site would be from the current and future residents of
the Site. Septic system design should be based on the San Joaquin County On-Site
Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards (2017) or other engineering
recommendations.
LOGE 1914 Page 2
