Stantec
Addendum Remedial Action Plan — Former Tosco Bulk Terminal No. 10013
July 21, 2010
Explain the discrepancies between the estimated amounts of oxygen injected reported in the
Third Quarter 2009 Status Summary Report, First Quarter 2010 Status Summary Report, and the
RAP.
Between December 17 and 21, 2007, mobile oxygen injection activities were initiated at the site as part
of pilot study activities. Approximately 2,964 pounds of oxygen was injected at the site during the pilot
study activities between December 17, 2007 and June 20, 2008.
On July 27 and 28, 2009, utilizing wells IP-10, IP-11, the new wells IP-14 through IP-17, and the deeper
well MW-22 as remedial injection wells, Stantec initiated the continuation of the oxygen injection pilot
study. Approximately 2,937 pounds of oxygen was injected at the site during the continuation of pilot
study activities between July 27, 2009 and March 22, 2010.
The approximate total amount of oxygen injected presented in the Third Quarter 2009 Status Summary
Report of 3,740 pounds was based upon the total amount injected during the initial pilot testing
activities (2,964 pounds between December 17, 2007 and June 20, 2008) plus the 774 pounds injected
during the third quarter 2009.
The total amount of oxygen injected presented in the First Quarter 2010 Status Summary Report of
2,937 pounds was only based on the timeframe in which oxygen injections were reinitiated on July 27,
2009 through to the close of the first quarter 2010.
The estimated 5,900 pounds of oxygen injected reported in the Remedial Action Plan submitted on
April 30, 2010 was the grand total of oxygen injected during both separate time periods of oxygen
injection activities (December 17, 2007 through June 20, 2008 = 2,964 pounds plus July 27, 2009
through March 22, 2010 = 2,937 pounds; summed together equals approximately 5,900 pounds).
If you have any questions or comments regarding this addendum letter, please feel free to contact
Sean Coyle (Stantec Project Manager) at (916) 861-0400 extension 222
Sincerely,
Stantec Consulting Corporation
SONAL G -1'''a
g ..........F0
pS lED) ••l0C
No.4422 "
Sean Coyle Ed Simonis, P.G w :
Associate Scientist Senior Geologist q-50'Z-Z9.1Z =
"'140014 IiII101,0
3
