On July 17, 2002,Mr. Sizemore verified via electronic
mail to Ms. Lewis that ethanol will be included in the fuel oxygenate suite, that grab
groundwater samples will come from the same boring as the soil samples, and that soil samples
will replace the proposed soil gas survey. The work plan was approved on July 19, 2002 by Ms.
Lewis in concurrence with conditions outlined by Mr. Sizemore's electronic mail.
The following additional modifications to the work plan were proposed and accepted by Ms.
Lewis via the teleconference above:
1. Ground penetrating radar will be used in efforts to locate the fiberglass vapor and condensate
pipelines.
2. All soil samples will be collected at the proposed depths or at the highest PID reading within
the range of proposed depths.
3. Two additional Geoprobe®borings will be advanced along the vapor/condensate pipelines.
One will be located near the asphalt patch and one near UST No. 5. At each boring location
soil samples will be taken at 5 and 10 feet bgs and groundwater samples will be taken at 12
and 25 feet bgs. They will be labeled GP-18 and GP-20,respectively. Formerly labeled GP-
18 will now be named GP-19, and formerly labeled GP-19 through GP-23 will now be
named GP-21 through GP-25. A revised figure will be supplied in the Subsurface
Investigation Report.
URS Corporation
500 12th Street, Suite 200
Oakland,CA 94607-4014
Tel: 510.893.3600
Fax: 510.874.3268
