S. terminals. <br /> Its contents follow USEPA's Interim Final Guidance, issued <br /> May 28, 1993 : <br /> - Statement of Top Management Support <br /> - Characterization of Waste Generation <br /> - Waste Management Costs <br /> - Periodic Waste Minimization Assessments <br /> - Coat Allocation System <br /> - Technology Transfer Activities <br /> - Program Implementation and Evaluation Provisions <br /> 3 . 0 STATEMENT OF TOP MANAGEMENT SUPPORT <br /> The BP Group's overarching Statement of Policy on Health, <br /> Safety, and the Environment, issued in 1993, includes the <br /> following: <br /> "Progressive improvement of our environmental performance: We <br /> will protect the environment by seeking to minimize the impact <br /> of our activities. We will strive for progressive improvement <br /> in the environmental performance of our facilities by reducing <br /> emissions, wastes and the use of energy. New facilities and <br /> plant will apply the best available pollution control techniques <br /> that are commercially viable. " <br /> This Waste Minimization Plan is Written to reflect this Policy, <br /> and to conform with the BP America Waste Minimization Program <br /> Guidelines, which were issued August 1989, by the CEO of BP <br /> America and the heads of its operating units. The Guidelines <br /> appear as AppendiX A to this Plan.
