Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> Response to Comments on Interim Corrective Action Plan <br /> Dear Ms. Meays: <br /> We have received a copy of your letter dated January 10, 1995 with comments to the IT <br /> Corporation's (IT): "Interim Corrective Action Pian," dated November 1994, for the Van Den <br /> Bergh Foods Facility in Stockton, California. Below are listed our responses to the comments <br /> in the order presented in your letter (attached). <br /> 1. Comment 1 (paragraph 3; page 1): "In order to verify that the soil removed during the <br /> excavation is "clean," confirmation sampling will be required in addition to the <br /> characterization sampling of the contaminated stockpile for disposal requirements." <br /> Response 1: Section 2.3.2 of IT Corporation: "Interim Corrective Action Plan," discusses <br /> the collection of=r-series of verification soil samples from the excavation linu B ri g <br /> excavation and over excavation activities. Additional samples may'be.collected at any <br /> time if conditions warrant (i.e., stained soils, hydrocarbon odors, regulatory request etc..). <br /> Verification sample results in conjunction with stockpile sample results will be reviewed <br /> to determine the disposition of excavated soils. <br /> 2.
