10 SITE CONDITIONS
3.1 Geology/Hydrogeology
The site is located in northern part of tha San Joaquin Valley. The youngest subsurface materials in this
part of the valley consist of Quaternary alluvium. As shown In the drill logs (Appendix B), materials
encountered In the borings at the site are dominantly silly clays with lenses of sand.
-... Groundwater was not encountered while drilling the three borings, therefore no monitoring wells were
installed.
The nearest surface drainage is the Stockton Diverting Canal,0.75 mile northeast of the site. It drains
Into the Calaveras River 1.5 miles northwest of the site.
3.2 Sail Sample Analytical Results
No TPH-G was detected in any of the ten analyzed soil samples. The only BTEX component detected
was xylenes in three samples collected at depths of 35.5 feet, 45.5 feet, and 50 feet In SB-2. The
xylenes concentrations ranged between 0.007 and 0.016 parts per million (ppm). The soil sample
analytical results are summarized in Table 1. Laboratory reports are contained in Appendix B.
k'(;;ROUNDWA1-ER
4 TECHNOLOGY
