Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report BSK Job No P92219 3 October 1994 Novemberd 15, 1994 Van Den Bergh Foods Page 2 Stockton Facility In February of 1993, BSK drilled and sampled four soil borings to depths of 74 feet below the ' ground surface Results of the analysis of the soil samples from the four borings indicate that Petroleum hydrocarbons have not impacted soil beyond a radius of 35 feet from the former underground tank location Refer to BSK/Remediation Services, Soil Investigation and Quarterly ' Groundwater Sampling Report, April 2, 1993 for additional data and information ' Groundwater monitoring well MW-4 screened between 75 and 95 feet below the ground surface has been sampled on a quarterly basis since October 1992 ' In December of 1993, BSK installed two additional groundwater Monitoring Wells MW-5 and MW-6 Monitoring Wells MW-5 and MW-6 are screened between 70 and 90 feet below the ground surface OCTOBER 1994 MONITORING EVENT Groundwater Sampling Method Pnor to sampling on October 20, 1994, the depth to water in Monitoring Wells MW-4, MW-5 and MW-6 was measured utilizing an electric sounding tape The top of the groundwater surface in the well and the bottom of the well were sampled for visual observations using a clear acrylic bailer The collected groundwater sample was examined for the presence of odors and ' indications of petroleum product The well was then purged of at least four well volumes with a submersible pump Parameters for pH, electric conductivity, and temperature were measured after removal of each well volume Consistency of these measured properties indicated that fresh water was being drawn from the aquifer A groundwater sampling Iog was maintained for each well (refer to Well Field Logs) The groundwater removed during purging was placed into a 55-gallon DOT 17 E/H drum and labeled The groundwater was sampled with a Teflon" oint source bailer The samples were p p placed into an appropriate sample container with preservatives added and labeled The samples were stored in an cooler with ice and shipped to the BSK State-certified Analytical Laboratories in Fresno for chemical testing ' Analytical Testing ' Chemical analyses were performed on the samples for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPH-D) by Method DHS GC/FID and Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 5030 and 602M tA summary of the analytical results from this sampling event and previous samplings is presented in Table I The Chain-of-Custody Record, Analytical Laboratory Data Sheets, and the Level 11 QC Summary are attached •ssociates
