BOX 9200 <br /> Tel 209/485 2429 Stockton, California 95208 <br />'Fax 209/268 7041 <br /> Subject: Soil Investigation and Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report <br /> Van Den Bergh Foods, Inc. <br />' Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr. Yoneshige: <br /> At your authorization and request, Remediation Services, Inc (RS), a subsidiary of <br /> BSK & Associates Geotechnical Consultants (BSK), presents this soil investigation <br /> and groundwater sampling report for the Van Den Bergh facility at 1400 Waterloo <br /> Road in Stockton, California. <br /> Background and Field Work <br /> Field work was performed by BSK. Appendix A presents BSK's Data Report for <br />' drilling, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling. A site map and site plan are also <br /> included in Appendix A. The scope of work for BSK's soil investigation and <br />' groundwater sampling included preparation of an addendum to the sampling Work <br /> Plan for regulatory review, drilling and sampling of four soil borings and monitor well <br /> sampling. The four borings, designated B-101 through B-104, were placed <br />' approximately 35 feet to the north, south, east and west of the previously drilled <br /> boring B-1 location Boring locations relative to B-1 and the former tank <br /> emplacement are shown on Figure 2, Appendix A. <br /> tSoil samples were collected from borings B-101, B-102, B-103 and B-104 at ten-foot <br /> intervals to a depth of 40 feet, and at five-foot intervals from 40 feet to a depth of <br />' 74 feet One groundwater sample was collected from MW-4 Soil and groundwater <br /> samples were preserved on ice and submitted to BSK's State-certified Analytical <br /> Laboratories in Fresno Soil samples were submitted for analysis for Total <br /> Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPH-D), Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as <br /> Gasoline (TPH-G) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX). <br /> Four of the soil samples, three from B-103 and one from B-104, were also analyzed <br />' for Volatile Halocarbons (EPA 8010).
