t22 Underground Utilities - Underground Service Alert (USA) was notified 48 hours <br /> before any subsurface work began <br /> 23 Site Safety Plan - Work was performed under the guidelines presented in a BSK <br /> prepared Health and Safety Plan <br />' 3.0 DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLING METHODOLOGY <br /> A BSK & Associates geologist under direct supervision of a Registered Civil Engineer was <br />' present during drilling, soil sampling and groundwater sampling Duties included <br /> • Filing permits and notifying SJPHS and Underground Service Alert before <br /> field activities began <br /> • Coordination and timing of field activities <br />' 0 implementing the Health and Safety Plan <br />' 0 Monitoring the air during drilling for the presence of volatile organic vapors <br /> • Collection of soil samples and classification by ASTM D-2488 <br /> • Preparation of Boring Logs (refer to Plates 1 thru 8) <br />' Proper containment and labeling of soil cuttings, equipment rinsate and <br /> purged groundwater <br /> • Preparation of this Data Report to be submitted to Remediation Services <br /> The locations of borings B-1 and MW-4 are presented on Figure 2, Site Plan Drilling was <br /> accomplished with a Mobile Drill B-53 truck-mounted rig with 8-inch hollow stem auger <br /> Samples were collected at five-foot intervals from depths of ten feet to eighty feet in B-1 <br /> and from ten feet to seventy-five feet in MW-4 The soil samples were collected by <br /> driving a two-inch i D sampler fitted with stainless steel liners 18 inches into relatively <br /> undisturbed soil The ends of the retained sample were covered with TeflonTM film and <br /> 1 plastic caps The retained soil samples were stored in a cooler with dry ice or ice until <br /> delivery to the BSK analytical laboratory <br /> Augers and drill rods were cleaned with a high-pressure, high-temperature cleaner before, <br /> between and after each bore hole The equipment was washed in a polyethylene lined <br /> containment basin The rinsate from the auger wash was placed into 55-gallon DOT 17 <br /> E/H drums and labeled <br /> 2 BSK.", <br /> 1tiil IS(l <br />
