i <br /> 11.3.4 Personal Protective Equipment <br /> The following are specific personal protective equipment items that shall be implemented <br /> • Always wear hand (i a latex or rutrile surgical gloves) and eye (i a safety <br /> glasses, goggles) protection to administer or apply first-aid or CPR <br />' 0 Always use CPR mouthpieces or ventilation devices <br />' • Inspect PPE prior to use to ensure it is in good working order and without flaws <br /> • Do not reuse gloves once removed <br /> • After use, remove gloves from top to bottom inside-out, not allowing <br /> unprotected skin to contact the exterior of the gloves <br /> 11.3.5 Waste Handling <br /> ' Disposable items that have or may have come in contact with blood must be bagged <br /> separately from other trash These wastes must be placed in leak proof containers or bags <br /> and labeled <br /> A collection container for contaminated articles will be available on-site Wastes used in <br /> medical emergency treatment (i a gloves, towels, gauze) shall be disposed in the infectious <br /> waste container(s) The container will be replaced as needed and not be overfilled <br /> 11.3.6 Waste Disposal <br /> The waste will remain on site in approved container(s) until an approved disposal facility <br /> capable of receiving medical wastes is identified Disposal of the infectious waste <br /> container(s) shall be in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations <br /> 11.4 Medical Requirements <br /> The medical requirements of the exposure control plan include provision of a Hepatitis B <br /> vaccination to all exposed employees and post-exposure procedures and evaluation <br /> 11.4.1 Hepatitis B Vaccination <br /> All potentially exposed employees will have made available to them at no cost a Hepatitis B <br /> vaccination The employee will also receive training as to the vaccine's efficacy, safety, <br /> benefits, and consequences prior to administration The vaccination series shall be initiated <br /> MZ111-29-94/RHS/HASP/94-0037 3AF 11-� <br />
