(Cambria) on behalf of BP Oil for the former BP Oil Bulk
Terminal No. 10013, 3505 Navy Drive in Stockton. The Investigation Report summarizes the
procedures of the recovery testing performed in eight monitoring wells, the results of a utility survey,
and the soil and grab groundwater samples collected from nine direct-push drilling locations. The
Investigation Report recommends a water well survey for a one-half mile radius of the site and a review
of monitoring well locations and historic groundwater analytical data to better define the lateral extent of
MTBE.
The Third and Fourth Quarter Reports summarize the results of the 25 August 2000 and 15 November
2000 sampling events.
We have the following comments on these reports.
1. An explanation is needed as to why the pumping equipment remained in monitoring wells MW-8
and MW-9, while the pumping equipment was removed from the other six monitoring wells
utilized during the recovery test and how leaving the pumping equipment in the two monitoring
wells may have affected the recovery testing results.
2. An explanation is needed as to why other attempts were not made to collect deep grab
groundwater samples from CB-2 and CB-6W.
3. The Investigation Report should include cross-section diagrams of site lithology.
California Environmental Protection Agency
a Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs, see our Web-site at http://www.swrcb.ca.gov/rwgcb5
