Ms. Vicki Goodenow - 2 - 8 April 2010
NuStar Terminals Stockton Facilit
Our comments are presented below.
1. We concur with the monitoring well installation and sampling plans proposed in the Work
Plan. However, Page 4 of the Work Plan identifies one of the monitoring wells as ACA-31D
while Figure 2 identifies the well as ACA-4D. Based on previous boring and shallower zone
naming conventions, we assume that the correct name for this well will be ACA-3D.
2. The installation and sampling of the proposed D-zone wells might not accomplish vertical
delineation of the plume at this Site. The need for vertical delineation must be resolved as
further investigation and remedial strategies for the Site are formulated.
By 1 August 2010, please submit the well installation report and sampling results of
monitoring wells ACA-3D and ACA-5D.
If you have any questions regarding this letter, you may contact me at (916) 464-4811 or
beta for waterboards.ca_ ov.
BRIAN T'YLOR, P.G.
Engineering Geologist
cc: Ms. Adrienne Ellsaesser, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Dept., Stockton
Ms. Rita Koehnen, Port of Stockton, Stockton
Mr. Joe Aldridge, NuStar Energy L.P, San Antonio Texas
Mr. Paul Supple, Atlantic Richfield Company, San Ramon, CA
Ms. Amanda Spencer, Ash Creek Associates, Inc., Portland, OR
Mr. Jeremy Hughes, LFR, Roseville
Mr. Rusty Benkosky, Stantec Consulting Corporation, Rancho Cordova
