PHS/EHD has a contract with <br /> California State Water Resources Control Board to conduct an <br /> underground storage '`tank corrective ' action program. The above <br /> referenced site was placed in the PHS/EHD Local Oversight Program <br /> (LOP) in January 1991 . <br /> I <br /> PHS/EHD has completed review of the report prepared by Resna dated <br /> November 18 , 1993 titled Site Assessment Report . The report ' <br /> contains site assessment information that documents both soil and <br /> groundwater contamination (gasoline and diesel) due to releases <br /> from the underground"" storage tanks (UST) previously used -at your. <br /> site . <br /> On 01/22/87 three UST were removed. Soil samples were collected <br /> from beneath the containers and analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbon. <br /> Analytical results from soil samples taken under tank #2 and tank <br /> #3 were above acceptable levels and further assessment was <br /> performed. On 12/8-11/89 four soil borings were completed to <br /> determine if contamination had moved ;laterally. Samples from• SB1 <br /> and SB2 evidenced thei,horizonal migration of petroleum hydrocarbon. <br /> Due to the unacceptable concentrations in sample SBI-15 , three <br /> groundwater monitoring well installations were completed on <br /> 5/01/91 . The soil samples analyzed in each boring at 65 . 5 feet <br /> revealed toluene residuals and groundwater samples collected and <br /> analyzed from the wells on 05/07/91 documented contamination above <br /> acceptable concentrations in MW #1 and MW#2 . <br /> i <br /> Groundwater samples from MW #1 and MW #2 have shown intermittent <br /> positive results for petroleum hydrocarbon from 05/07/91 through <br /> 08/23/93 with no two consecutive rounds non-detectable (N.D. ) in <br /> all three wells . Due to the elevated soil contaminant <br /> concentrations found in SB1 approximately 15 feet north of the <br /> former tank location , also positive for petroleum hydrocarbon,. and <br /> the groundwater contamination in MW .#2 and MW #3 located <br /> A Division of San Joaquin Count} Health Care Set-vices <br /> �f <br />
