_ a <br /> AWAAFAIR <br /> P1_ _r� Working To Restore Nature <br /> i <br /> 3 DEC 5 PH 2' 18 <br /> 1710 Main Street <br /> Escalon, CA 95320 <br /> Phone (209) 838-3507 <br /> FAX (209) 838-3509 <br /> May 11, 1993 <br /> Ms Cathy Copeland <br /> Chevron U S A Inc <br /> 3300 Monte Cnsto Road <br /> Bakersfield, California 93308 <br /> RE Chevron U S A Production/Carnation Plant <br /> 540 North Aurora Way, Stockton, CA <br /> Dear Ms Copeland <br /> At the request of Chevron U S A Inc (Chevron), RESNA Industries Inc (RESNA) has <br /> conducted groundwater monitoring and sampling at the above referenced site (Figure 1) This <br /> letter summarizes monitoring activities conducted by RESNA on April 1, 1993 <br /> Water level measurements were collected from each monitoring well using a Solinst Water Level <br /> Meter (Model 101) Groundwater monitoring of wells MW1, MW2, and MW3 showed a rise <br /> in the groundwater elevation since last monitoring on June 16, 1992, averaging 0 04 feet Table <br /> 1 summarizes groundwater elevation data A groundwater gradient map was created using the <br /> April 1, 1993 data The groundwater gradient is approximately 0 025 feet/foot or 132 feet/mile <br /> in a northeast direction (Figure 2 ) This groundwater gradient is consistent with previous <br /> monitoring rounds <br /> At Chevron's request, groundwater samples were collected from wells MWI, MW2 and MW3 <br /> Prior to sampling, 3 to 5 well volumes of water were purged from each well All purged water <br /> was pumped into an onsite baker tank for future disposal Groundwater samples were collected <br /> from the wells after stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature Field <br /> purge logs are included in Attachment 1 The samples were collected using la dedicated, <br /> disposable bailer The samples were sent to state-certified RESNA Environmental iLaboratories <br /> in Fremont, California All samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes <br /> (BTEX) using EPA method 80241602, total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and <br /> LETrERS1011040193 W <br />
