Fremont Street
Stockton, CA
Project No. 989.2
November 21, 2001
1.0 INTRODUCTION
During excavation and removal of underground storage tank (UST) at Valley Wholesale
Drug Company, 1401 W. Freemont Street, Stockton, CA, gasoline impacted soils and
groundwater were encountered.
On October 5, 2001 Mr. Jeffrey Wong of San Joaquin PHS/EHD issued a directive
requiring that a work plan be developed that will define the extent of the contamination
plume.
f
4
2.0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATION
To investigate the lateral extent of soil and groundwater impacted with gasoline, Geological
Technics Inc. proposes to install two monitoring wells to±20 feet below;grade, to be named
MW-7 and MW-8. The proposed well locations are as follows (See Figure 2: Site Map for
well locations):
• MW-7 will be near the northwest corner of Valley Wholesale Drug Company in a down
gradient position.
• MW-8 will be located farther down gradient east of MW-7, across;Oak Street north of h
Valley Wholesale Drug Company.
To investigate possible vertical migration of contaminated groundwater, Geological
Technics lnc. proposes to install one deep, discretely screened monitoring well. This well
will be named MW-101, will be located near MW-1, and the total depth is proposed to be
approximatel'y 40 feet below grade.
_ II
4
