FREMONT ST_ , STOCKTON, CA
SIVE CODE: 1.782
Prepared for
San Joaquin County PHS
Environmental Health Services
by
Wm. J. Hunter & Associates
Sept. 1994
PURPOSE OF WORK:
On June 8, 1994, two (2) 1 , 000 gallon UST' s which had contained
unleaded gasoline were removed from the site along with a fuel
dispenser and associated piping. Soil samples were taken from
beneath the tanks, and from the product line & the site of the
fuel dispenser. (Refer to PLATE IV for the locations of those
samples. ) The soil samples from the product line & pump were
non-detect for BTEX & THP--G, but all. four of the samples from
beneath the tanks revealed measureable levels of those compounds_
TABLE I summarizes the the results of the analysis; copies of the
laboratory reports are included as EXHIBIT G_ It was reported
that groundwater entered the excavation during the work, but no
water samples were taken. The removed spoil was returned to the
hole & barracades were placed around the site.
The excavation is situated in the parking lot area in front of
the building, and while there is no significant safety hazard, it
does interfere with parking. Because of possible safety prob-
lems, and the fact that the removed spoil which was returned to
the hole should be removed before closing the exca'v'ation, we are
proposing to remove as much additional contaminated soil as
possible, take additional soil samples, fill the hole with clean
material & cover with asphalt.
Because of the shallow depth to the water table at this location,
it is realized a groundwater investigation will be required. A
program to conduct that work will be prepared and submitted to
the San Joaquin EHD after the excavation & sampling covered by
this workplan has been completed and the results analyzed.
PROPERTY ADDRESS:
1401 W.
