The
groundwater samples collected on August 22 and September 26, 2002, were delivered to
Sherwood Labs (California ELAP No. 1400), of Hilmar, California, for the following
analyses:
' • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) by EPA method 8020
• Gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-Gasoline)by EPA method 8015(m)
• Fuel oxygenate suite (MTBE, DIPS, ETBE, TAME, TBA, 1,2 DCA and EDB) by EPA
method 8260
The detection limits for these compounds are listed in the data table, Table 4 of Appendix
A. A Chain of Custody was completed for all samples collected and tracked to ensure
sample integrity. Laboratory data sheets are included in Appendix D.
' The laboratory data was submitted electronically to GeoTracker as required under AB2886
on September 9 and October 18, 2002, respectively. The confirmation numbers for the
electronic submittals are 5629095792 and 6843049108 respectively.
' 2.4 Additional Site Work
GPS Survey
On October 2, 2002, Thompson-Hysell Engineers and GTI personnel mobilized to the site to
survey the monitoring wells to accordance to A132886. The groundwater gradient table was
revised using elevation data collected from the October surveying event. The survey data
' was converted to decimal degrees and submitted electronically to GeoTracker, as required
under A132886, on October 30, 2002. The confirmation numbers for the electronic
submittals are 5742863297 for XY coordinates and 8567173600 for Z coordinates.
' Soil and Water Disposal
On August 19, 2002, GTI personnel and American Valley Waste Oil Company arrived on
site and disposed of 425 gallons of purge water stored on site. On October 18, 2002 the 60-
gallon poly drums and an additional 200 gallons of purge water was removed from the site.
Soil disposal has been arranged and will be addressed in the 4`h quarter monitoring report.
3.0 RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION
' Summary analytical data tables are included in Appendix A. A borehole log is included in
Appendix B. The Groundwater Monitoring Field Notes are included in Appendix C and
Laboratory Data Sheets are included in Appendix D.
' The Groundwater gradient map is included as Figure 2, the Rose Diagram is included g g as
Figure 3 and the MTBE contour map is included as Figure 4.
The analytical results and field observations are discussed below,
