There was contamination noted during tank removal. After taking soil
' samples, the soil was returned to the excavated pit.
October 1994 —Approximately 128 cubic yards of contaminated soil was removed from the
site and disposed of at a licensed landfill. Soil samples were taken and the hole was filled
with clean material, and covered with asphalt.
' August 3, 1995 — Three soil borings (SB-1, SB-2 & SB-3) and three groundwater
monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2 & MW-3) were placed on the property under the
' supervision of a registered geologist from Wm. J Hunter& Associates.
August 25, 1998 —Three soil/water GeoProbes (GP-1, GP-2 & GP-3) were placed along the
' south side of the building in an attempt to better define the limits of the soil and
groundwater plume.
' August 15, 2000 — Three additional groundwater monitoring wells (MW-4, MW-5 & MW-
6) were installed along the east side of the building in an attempt to better define the lateral
limits of the groundwater plume.
1.0 SITE OBSERVATIONS
Sierra Occupational Services Medical Clinic borders Valley Wholesale Drug Company to
' the west and Larson Marine to the east. Larson Marine is a boat sales business with a boat
repair and maintenance facility on site. The Larson Marine property is elevated
approximately two feet above Valley Wholesale Drug Company property. A 21-inch
diameter storm drain runs between the two properties and empties into the main channel
located under Interstate 5. Three grated manhole covers are located along a trench-like
basin formed by sloping asphalt above the storm drain.
Sixteen groundwater monitoring events have been performed on MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3
since August of 1995. Five groundwater monitoring events have been performed on MW-4,
MW-5 and MW-6 at the site since August of 2000. Monitoring well locations are located
on Site Map, Figure 2.
i
1
