FREMONT STREET
STOCKTON, CA
PURPOSE OF WORK:
The San Joaquin Co. PHS, Environmental Health Division requires that the lateral
limits of the soil & groundwater plume existing beneath the above site be delineated
to the north. Two wells are proposed to address that issue. MW-4 will be located as
close as possible to the site of GP-3, which was placed near the southeast corner of
the existing building. BTEX & TPHg were detected in soil samples at 11' & 17' below
grade in that soil probe. The soil sample from 23' bgl was below detection limits. A
water sample measured minor amounts of BTEX; TPHg was non-detect. MW-5 will be
placed approximately 30 to 40' to the north of MW-4.
i
PROPERTY LOCATION:
The site is located at 1401 W. Fremont Street in the City of Stockton. It consists of
approximately .26 acres; the Assessor's parcel No. is 135-25-31.
NAME & ADDRESS OF PROPERTY OWNERS:
Valley Wholesale Drug Co., Inc., 1401 W. Fremont Street, Stockton
CONTACT PERSON:
Paul Souva, Controller; (2d9) 466-0131, ext. 224.
DEPTH TO GROUNDWATER:
Groundwater was measured at an average depth of 9.12' bgl during the December,
1999 sampling event. The depth has ranged from a nigh of 6.39' in April, 1998, to a
low of 9.12' in December 1995 & December, 1999. That is a maximum fluctuation of
2.73' over a 4f year period. The hydraulic gradient has been consistently to the
north-northeast.
BRIEF REVIEW OF PRIOR WORK DONE TO DATE:
June, 1994 - Two 1,000 gallon gasoline UST's, product lines, & pumps were removed
from the property. There was obvious contamination noted during tank removal. After
taking soil samples, the soilwas returned to the hole.
