(Delta):was contracted by ARCO Products Company (ARCO) <br /> to perform soil sampling of former dispenser locations during dispenser island replacement activities at <br /> ARCO Facility No. 5450 (the Site; see Figure 1), located at 1617 West Fremont Street_in Stockton, <br /> California. The purpose of the soil sampling'was to fulfill requirements of the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services. This letter report presents the data collected during the former dispenser <br /> sampling. <br /> Soil Sam lin' i <br /> working under the direction of a California Registered <br /> On November 24, 1999,a Delta representative, g , <br /> Geologist, visited the Site to collect soil samples from beneath eight former dispenser locations and <br /> associated former product piping. Delta collected soil samples beneath the former dispensers and <br /> product piping under the direction of Inspector Mike Kith. Eight dispenser samples were collected and <br /> identified as DP14.0 through DP54.0,DP6-5.0,DP74.5,and DP84.5 (Figure 1). The samples were <br /> collected at a depth of approximately 4.0 to 5.0 feet below the former dispenser locations. Ten soil + <br /> samples were collected beneath former product pipelines and identified as PLl-5, PL2-3.5, PL3-3.5, <br /> PL4-4.0,PLS-4.0, PL6-5.0, PL7-4.5, PL8-5.0, PL9-5.5, and PL10-5.0 (Figure 1). The"samples were <br /> soil <br /> collected at a depth of approximately 3.5 to 5.5 feet beneath the former pipeline locations. Each <br /> sample location was exposed with a hand auger and each sample was collected using a slide hammer to <br /> drive a brass sampling tube into the soil. The ends of each brass tube were then covered using Teflod"I <br /> sheets and plastic caps. Each sample was sealed, labeled with the ARCO station number, sample <br /> name,collection date, and collection time. Each sample was identified on the standard ARCO chain of <br /> custody.
