I have
reviewed the file and found that thtw.ne is not sufflcieut infonnati.on to close the site at this time. A
survey of supply wells within a 20Q0-foot radius of the site is beetled. Furthermore, the method for
determining the ground water gradient direction is missing. Because sof the location of the site
relative to the Delta, it seems unl&ely that the site would have always has ground water flow to the
north- Onc nearby underground tank site, the former Beacon Station located at 2185 East Fremont
Street, found ground water gradients to be towards the west, southeast, and northwest between May
1992 and March. 1993. If your method for determining the gradient is found to be insufficient, 2
more monitoring wells may be required.
When the above concerns have been addressed, we may again consider site closure. I have enclosed
a checklist which may assist you. Please continue to direct all of your correspondences to Elizabeth
Thayer, Associate Engineer.
If you have any p
Y y questions, lease call me at 916) 255-311 or ' yet t (916) 255-3125.
JEFF BRAUNSTEIN
Project Engineer
cc: Diane Hinson, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Stockton
