•
1 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of EMCON Associates' (EMCON's) pre-
liminary site assessment of gasoline-impacted soil and ground water at the
Nor-Cal Beverage Company, Inc. (Nor-Cal Beverage) facility located at
1800 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California (see Figure 1). This
assessment was conducted in May 1991 .
The purpose of this environmental assessment was to characterize the
vertical extent of soil contamination and the magnitude of ground-water
impact, if any, due to the release of petroleum hydrocarbons associated
with three underground gasoline storage tanks which were located at the
site and removed in January 1991. This characterization was conducted
consistent with the May 1991 EMCON document entitled Work Plan for
Environmental Services, 1800 Fast Fremont Street, Stockton, California,
as approved by Nor-Cal Beverage-and the San Joaquin County Depart-
ment of Public Health Services. This report presents background informa-
tion on the site, the site geology, field activities, sampling and analysis
procedures, analytical results, and conclusions and recommendations.
p79\9051g050101d 1 Rev. 0 July 2, 1991
Mon Rssociotes
